Welcome and thank you for visiting the website of the Consulate of the Republic of Korea in Philadelphia

The Consulate of the Republic of Korea in Philadelphia covers two states, Pennsylvania and Delaware, and since its opening in April 2021, it has been working to promote the rights and interests of its compatriots and foster cooperation between Korea and its jurisdiction.

Pennsylvania is known as the "Keystone" state because it is the geographic and economic center of the 13 states that declared independence during the American Revolutionary War, and Delaware is nicknamed the "First State" because it was the first state to approve the U.S. Constitution.

The First Korean Congress, held in Philadelphia in 1919 and led by Dr. Philip Jaisohn, played an essential role in spreading public opinion about Korean independence in the United States, so Philadelphia has a deep connection to the history of the Korean independence movement.

The Korean community in our jurisdiction is active in various fields, including politics, economics, law, and healthcare, and serves as a bridge to promote exchanges between Korea and the United States.

We will continue to strive to protect overseas Koreans, provide better civil service, and strengthen the relationship between Korea and the U.S. We also welcome U.S. citizens and other foreigners to visit our Consulate.

We hope that the Consulate's homepage provides valuable information to our compatriots, other U.S. citizens, and foreigners, and we kindly ask for your feedback if there are any areas for improvement or suggestions.

Thank you.
